Im running iOS 8.1x and since the February 2015 update, I cannot view table of contents nor book content for almost all books. I cleared my cache, reset my iPad, to no avail. Now I have to view content in my browser on my laptop. Was hopeful the March 2015 update would fix it, but no luck.
The video continually freezes as if it is trying to buffer, however I only ever get a few seconds of video before it freezes again. I am constantly having to press pause then play to get the video going again. Im trying to study for a cert and Im focusing more on whether the video is going to play than on the subject matter.
Since Feb. update table of content, book and video content and off line book bag are met with endless spinning wheel. No response from company on problem or fix. Useless app as it stands right now disappointing especially considering the cost of the service.
I love safari books online, but this app is lacking. After getting an iPhone 6+ specifically for reading, this app doesnt benefit from the bigger screen very well. Code samples are too big (and dont scale), text is blurry and the UI is huge. For a company selling many books on app development the current state of the app is ironic at best.
That’s all I get from this app. This error message comes up a lot, and is completely useless. What exactly is the problem? This is an error message for the developer of the app but it’s given to the user.
I am using this app via my organization login but every time it keeps saying that session expired and gives the login page.
The app always crashes when trying to open a video. Plays ok on iphone 6, but not on iPad Air.
Im highly disappointed in this app, it doesnt work. I can view all books perfectly fine in my browser I use this app and it doesnt recognize my account as a paying account. It will not let me add them or view them. Emailed their support line multiple times with absolutely no response given. I want my subscription money back.
This app used to be reasonably functional... Now its worthless. I can view my folders (although the app has now lost my off-line choices), but trying to "resume reading" any title just shows a blank reading screen with a never-ending spinning wheel. Certainly reconsidering if I renew Safari next renewal time. :(
Silently drops entire sections of content in a way that makes it hard to detect until you encounter a reference to the missing text. Reinstall corrects the problem, but it recurs. Service is also quite lacking on mobile device browsers.
On my iPad, this app displays the initial logo page, then immediately crashes. I also have the iPhone version of this app, and it at least lets you read a book.
Not to mention crashes all the time. They charge so much but dont provide a decent reader. Web is horrible to read on and their app is useless.
I seemed to be flying through the chapters of a technical book quite fast. Then I realized it was because this app was excluding huge swaths of content. When viewing through a browser on my computer, I see everything. But any pages in the browser that are longer than a few iPad pages, the iPad app cuts off the rest and goes to the top of the next browser page. Of course this makes this app completely unreliable and useless. What a disappointment.
The app is horrible to use now. The fonts are blurry and the app is clearly not optimize for he new screen. Its hard to read the text and the formatting is uncomfortable to read versus online. I am at the point that I would rather buy the books on Amazon and read it with my kindle app.

I thought it was just me, but others are experiencing the same issues with skipping chapters in videos. Needs an update!!!!!!!!

All my course books are here and read great on my iPad, and I am able to put a couple books in the offline book bag for when I am on the go. Hasnt crashed or had any problems with two weeks of use. Very helpful.
Can not load table of contents, nor any book content. Worse than useless. The new app says it isnt compatible with "legacy" accounts. This app isnt either. Going to have to reconsider maintaining a subscription at all at this point.
